Tucoemas Federal Credit Union's roots in Tulare County stretch back to 1948 when nine original members pooled their savings to create our credit union. We've grown steadily since and now offer accounts, real estate loans, auto loans, personal loans, and more through four California branches in Visalia, Tulare and Porterville with the mission to provide high-quality financial services for those who live, work, worship or attend school in Tulare County.

The role of Controller at Tucoemas FCU is dynamic and multifaceted; it requires a keen financial acumen with an aligned passion for the organizational culture that has made Tucoemas great. Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, interpersonal flair, and more than a touch of charisma that allows you to effectively convey the Credit Union's overarching mission, culture, and objectives to the team, ensuring transparent communication between your department and others. Motivate team members to take ownership of their growth and collaborate in goal-setting endeavors.
Oversee various accounting functions, developing and implementing process to streamline accounting procedures while upholding proper and accurate accounting practices following GAAP. Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, financial analysis, and reporting. Ensure reconciliation and reporting activities are conducted efficiently and accurately, examine financial accounts, and prepare journal entries. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and the annual budget process, and update essential financial documentation while tracking ongoing business performance metrics.
Coordinate all necessary regulatory reporting and liaise with external auditors and regulators. Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining quality assurance standards, and demonstrate proficiency in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the finance industry, including but not limited to BSA/AML, CPI, and OFAC, as well as software and systems needed to work in today’s office environment.

Ready to live our 3L culture as our Controller? Tell us where you earned your bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and gained at least five years of comparable experience in accounting department leadership. Show your enthusiasm for self-improvement by demonstrating ongoing learning and a desire to grow your career at the credit union. Candidates must also be bondable.
Starting salary range is approximately $90,000 to $105,000 annually.
